Cyprus offers two pathways for obtaining Permanent Residency. Both routes lead to Permanent Residency, but each has different requirements, timelines, and financial criteria.

💼 Property Investment

  1. Property value must be at least €300,000 + VAT
  2. The applicant must invest at least €200,000 + VAT before application submission
  3. Property must be purchased new (first sale)
  4. The Contract of Sale must be submitted to the Land Registry

Funds must come from outside Cyprus

🏦 Bank Deposit

  • A bank deposit of €30,000
  • Transferred from abroad. Funds are blocked for 3 years

 

💰 Annual Income Requirements

  • Minimum annual income: €30,000
  • Additional: €5,000 per dependent child

📑 Additional Obligations

  • Clean Criminal Record for applicant and spouse
  • Confirmation they will not be employed in Cyprus
  • Must visit Cyprus once within 1 year after approval and once every 2 years thereafter
 

📊 Tax Benefits (Optional)

Upon obtaining Permanent Residency, clients may become Cyprus Tax Residents through:

  • 183-day Rule, or
  • 60-day Rule (Non-Domicile Status)
 

This enables individuals to receive worldwide dividends tax-free for 17 years, provided they do not spend more than 183 days in any other single country (except Cyprus).
